The original American Whigs are best known for hosting the Boston Tea Party, but the revived political party finds itself today as the standard-bearer for American military veterans and others fighting for a more united country, an America that is not strangled by polarized Democratic and Republican leaders at the national, state and local level.

Chuck Morse, a co-host of the syndicated radio program Fairness Radio with Chuck Morse and Patrick O’Heffernan, explores the modern Whigs and their historic American leaders such as Presidents John Quincy Adams and Abraham Lincoln.

“The Whigs of today, like the Whigs of history, are neither left-wing authoritarian collectivists nor are they right-wing limited government libertarians. Indeed, today’s Whigs present a philosophy and an approach to government that pre-dates these two political theories which tear at the fabric of the American system,” writes Mr. Morse.

What follows is an examination and application of a party platform to the political issues of the day, including:

The Biography of Eddie Adams: Famous War Photographer

If it makes you laugh,

if it makes you cry,

if it rips out your heart,

that’s a good picture – Eddie Adams

Eddie Adams is probably one of the most renowned photographers and photojournalists worldwide. His works have won a multitude of awards, proving that it takes more than a camera and technical skills to create a memorable picture. Most importantly, his images have turned into emblematic representations of events.

What has turned his photographs into some of the most influential visuals captured on film? It probably is all about the fact that Adams tried to capture emotions rather than people and items.

The Biography of Eddie Adams

Eddie Adams was born on June.12, 1933 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. His interest in photography became obvious during his teenage years. For some time, he had to work as a wedding photographer, an activity that was soon to turn into a professional occupation.

After graduating from high school, Adams served in the United States Marine Corps. He witnessed the Korean War as a combat photographer. During his career, Adams captured 13 wars on film.

Adams managed to build his reputation and soon after he was working for Associated Press. His war photography moment of fame came during the Vietnam War, when he shot the famous Street Execution of a Viet Cong Prisoner. The picture shows General Nguyen Ngoc Loan executing a prisoner on the street of Saigon. It captures fear, desperation and the terror of war in a horrendous way.

The photograph received a Pulitzer Prize for Spot News Photography in 1969. It also granted Adams several additional distinctions.

Though it brought him fame, Adams often regretted the powerful impact of the photograph. He wrote the following in connection to the manner in which the image affected people:

The general killed the Viet Cong; I killed the general with my camera. Still photographs are the most powerful weapon in the world. People believe them; but photographs do lie, even without manipulation. They are only half-truths. … What the photograph didn’t say was, ‘What would you do if you were the general at that time and place on that hot day, and you caught the so-called bad guy after he blew away one, two or three American people?’

As an apology, Adams later contacted the family of the general. After the death of General Nguyen, Adams was reported as saying that he was a true hero, who accomplished his mission.

In 1972, Adams began working for Time magazine. He freelanced, photographing numerous celebrities and even doing a series on Penthouse pets. Later, Adams produced various fashion and lifestyle-related photographs.

Eddie Adams died on September.19, 2004 from Lou Gehrig’s disease. He worked to his very death, even after being diagnosed with the condition.

The Photos of Eddie Adams: Capturing Emotions on Film

The fact that Eddie Adams received over 500 awards during his career signifies that his images have managed to change the manner in which people perceive news and international events.

All of the photographs have a powerful message. Adams presented the ‘real face’ of political events, wars and turmoil – the people affected by such developments. His photos have a face, each one capturing a special emotion. One such image is Mother Teresa Cradling an Armless Baby Orphan.

The images created by Eddie Adams have stirred people in a powerful way, provoking them to undertake action and to change events. This is why the photographer was never happy with his contributions from Vietnam and his Pulitzer-winning work.

The black and white photographs created by Eddie Adams have both aesthetical and informative value. His biggest strength was close-ups and portraits that depict each wrinkle, spot and emotion on the face of the portrayed person.

He shot iconic photographs. When thinking about the Vietnam War, most people can recall the image of the prisoner getting shot. After all, quality photography is about the adequate and effective presentation of events, places and people.

Question 4 takes Marylanders into the World of illegal immigration. This question is written in such a manner, one becomes dizzy after scanning it. Offering “illegal residents of the state” reduced tuition in 4 year colleges based on a list of criteria that would make sophists proud. These criteria note the illegal student must be filing income tax returns, graduated from a Maryland high school, registered with selective service system and accumulated 60 credit hours in a community college. Illegals are just that illegal. Does the liberal O’Malley administration want us to believe these illegals are registering for selective service and filing not necessarily paying income taxes? Maryland has a great heart when it comes to the down and out. The state’s insatiable treasury continues to raise fees, taxes, tolls and more to

The misunderstanding arose after the 26/11, when the Pak Govt banned Paki players from playing on Indian soil.

At that time IPL II was on. It was only natural that the franchisees, knowing that Pak players will not get visas, excluded the talented Pakis.

When IPL III started, the same problem continued. The franchisees do not want to take the risk and hence there were no bids for the 11 Paki players. This is discrimination says Pak.

IPL is a private body and has nothing to do with the Govt.

Pakistan retorted angrily, saying that Paki players were banned by IPL. Paki players say that they will not take part in future IPL matches.

The Paki Govt intervened. Pak Home Minister Rehman Malik opined that India is not interested in normalising relations with Pak and that is why Pak players were not invited for IPL III. The Indian Govt, he feels, should interfere in this issue. In order to take revenge, Pak should boycott the coming Hockey World Cup. Pak will not send the Parliamentary gang to India, as a reciprocal gesture. It was in Australia that the Pak took the decision not to play in IPL, till India-Pak relations became normal.

Indian Sports Minister, M S Gill and External Affairs Minister S M Krishna say that the IPL is a private body. Also an economic body and the Govt cannot intervene in this issue. This info was conveyed to the Pak Sports Minister, Jakhrani, they say.

The political parties in Pak say that this is a deliberate humiliation of Pak cricket. All Pak visits will be banned. Rehman Malik opined that India should respect the talented cricketers of Pak, if India is interested in the peace process.

Zaheer Abbas say that Pak should boycott the World Hockey Cup and his opinion is echoed by millions of others in Pak.

The Chairman of the Pak Board, Ijaz Butt says this is a deliberate attempt to humiliate Pakistan. The new events are utterly unsatisfactory. Even though IPL is a private League, this action on the part of the franchisees is unjust.

Navjot Singh Sidhu says the Pak players should have been included. Rameez Raja feels that the Indian Board must use more discretion.

The 11 players in IPL auction are Afridi,Gul,Imran,Nazir,Rana Naved,Mohd Amir,Abdul Razzak,Kamran Akmal,Umar Akmal,Sayeed Anwar,Sohail Tanvir

We feel that Indian Board must intervene and invite the Pak players. It is not too late now ! It is time we divorced Politics from Sports !

Declining Animal Migration and Climate Change in New England

Declining Animal Migration and Climate Change in New England

New England Animal Migrations

Despite the inherent drama of long-distance —hundreds or thousands of animals trekking across huge expanses of land, air and water between seasonal ranges—can be surprisingly inconspicuous to humans. Even in a well-populated place like New England, throngs of traveling birds may pass mostly unnoticed far overhead of bustling towns and cities. For those in the know, however, and with a watchful eye, the New England region can be an exciting place in the spring and autumn, with everything from butterflies to baleen whales on the move. The potential effects of climate change on such animal migrations are poorly understood, but the more observers keep track of their annual rounds, the more light may be shed on this complicated issue.

<p style=”text-align: center”> between calving and feeding grounds. The whales winter and give birth off the coasts of Georgia and Florida, then head north in the spring for feeding grounds off New England and Nova Scotia. Right whales are so-called because their slow-moving, coastal habits made them the “right” target for . Slow to recover from overexploitation, North Atlantic right whales now face troubles associated with their migration path hosting increasingly busy shipping traffic as well as offshore oil and gas extraction. There may be no more than 300 or 350 right whales left in the North Atlantic, making them one of the most threatened cetacean populations in the world. Recent conservation efforts aimed at bolstering this declining migration have tackled reducing ship speeds, adjusting shipping routes and managing against whale entanglement in fishing lines.

Other Whales

The North Atlantic population of between New York and Pennsylvania, birders regularly congregate in spring and especially autumn to view everything from American kestrels to golden and bald eagles on the wing southward. Certain species, like broad-winged hawks and turkey vultures, may assemble in massive, swirling “kettles”—great aggregations of birds riding a thermal or updraft in spectacular fashion.

Other Winged Migrants

In addition to the concentrations of raptors, many songbirds and shorebirds migrate through New England, many shunted along the coast. A number of species, like the blackpoll warbler, actually head seaward off New England capes and travel thousands of miles over the ocean to the Caribbean and South America. Similarly, monarch butterflies—which cannot survive the fierce winters of the northern United States—migrate southward along the New England coast, as well as points inland, to winter in Mexican highlands.

Climate Change

It is possible that ongoing climate changes may trigger declining animal migrations. There is some evidence that a warming climate may encourage birds that have historically migrated to remain year-round in a given region. A 2006 assessment by the World Wildlife Fund, titled “Bird Species and Climate Change: Global Status Report”, suggested that, worldwide, long-distance migrating birds may be negatively affected by a rapidly shifting climate because food sources they rely upon in one destination or another may become available earlier than they tend to arrive. As shifting food sources are among the chief impetuses for animal migration, climatic shifts in their distribution may significantly change the routes and nature of these epic journeys.
